THE STORY OF THE PÄRNU ELEPHANT
Introduction
In recent years, the elephant symbolising happiness has become a symbol of Pärnu and an integral part of the urban space almost by itself. Why is that? Is there a story behind it?
The answer is ‘yes’. Pärnu has indeed developed a special bond with elephants and there is more than one story behind it.
Tourist Information Pop-up in Pärnu Museum* features a display exhibition that introduces the stories of the Pärnu elephant in five languages, also helping to navigate the paths of modern city elephants.
Visiting the exhibition is free of charge.
Authors of the exhibition: Katrin Suu ja Indrek Aija
*Pärnu tourism destination's POP-UP tourism information center is open for the second year in a row in the project room adjacent to the Pärnu Museum lobby.
