Introduction

Throughout her life, Johanna Grauverk's creative light has been entirely in the knowledge of God.

 

Dedication to Christianity has never limited her versatile activities. Faith has only broadened Johanna's creativity. This is how Johanna is characterized by her peer Johannes Saard who is however a bit younger than the artist.

 

Johanna was born in 1923 in Tallinn. She started her education in the Raeküla district of Pärnu. As a member of the Pärnu Saalem Free Church, she volunteer to take care of those in need. She has finished Tartu Fine Art courses. She has belonged to various creative clubs in Pärnu and participated in health and gymnastics clubs while practicing a healthy lifestyle.

 

From 1956 until today, it has been possible to see her work at exhibitions. Most recently in Latvian and Lithuanian centers. She has been attracted by nature photography. In addition to the above, she is blessed with the talent of poetry. Her verses have been set to music by well-known Estonian composers.

 

Johanna herself has also been very musical. She has also sung in choirs as a soloist, played piano, violin, mandolin. Johanna has published four publications introducing her work. It is worth noting that she refuses to sell her creations, she is ready to give everything as gifts.

 

Johanna was a member of the Raeküla society and honorary citizen of the Raeküla district No. 1 and an honorary member of the Pärnu Y-club NGO.
