From September 24 to October 05, 2025, the Matsalu Nature Film Festival will present the very best of international nature documentaries in Lihula, right next to Matsalu National Park. In addition to film screenings, the festival also features a captivating nature photography exhibition and an engaging children’s and youth program.

Late September is one of the most beautiful times in Matsalu – thousands of migratory birds gather along the coastline, moose roam the misty floodplains of the Kasari River, and the evenings are filled with the calls of cranes. It's the perfect time to come with your family, slow down, and enjoy both nature and nature films.

Children attend the festival for free.
All other visitors need a Festival Pass to attend events in Lihula.
To give the festival an extra boost, you can purchase a Supporter’s Pass, which also grants access to invite-only festival events.
