Andres Adamson "Games of Twilight"
Introduction
On Wednesday, May 7th at 4:00 PM, Andres Adamson's solo exhibition "Games of Twilight" will be opened at Pärnu City Gallery’s Artists’ House. You are welcome to attend!
Twilight is a threshold – a passage between light and darkness, where the visible world begins to unravel and the mind perceives more than the eyes can see. It is in this in-between, where time seems to slow and boundaries blur, that the Games of Twilight emerge.
This exhibition invites viewers to pause and sense. Here, “games” are not merely playful acts but ways of relating to the world – evoking childhood memories, dreamlike journeys, or quiet reflections on time and memory. In the fading light of twilight, every object, shadow, reflection, or movement takes on a new meaning – playful, poetic, and sometimes even aching.
The artist explores twilight as a space of paradox: where light meets shadow, presence fades into absence, and reality mingles with illusion. Each piece is a gesture to capture the moment just before nightfall – when everything is still possible.
Andres Adamson (b. 1963) is a photographic artist, illustrator, and graphic designer from Pärnu, whose work combines visual poetry with deep reflection. His photographic series, such as Subaquatica, Obscurum, and Afterimage, invite viewers to explore the interplay of light and shadow, reflecting the boundaries between nature and consciousness. Adamson's works have been exhibited in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Belarus, and are part of several private collections around the world. In addition to his artistic practice, he is a dedicated educator, sharing his knowledge of photography, composition, and graphic design at the Pärnu School of Arts and through various training programs.
The exhibition is supported by Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
